A couple weeks ago, we hiked through the Torrey Pines State Reserve just north of La Jolla, California. The weather wasn’t great, but the hike was breathtaking.
We took a series of pictures (a total of 8), which we stitched together in Photoshop to create a long panorama. This took a while, working on a laptop, but the result took us back to the reserve and the view of the dunes, cliffs, pines and Pacific. We used a tip we heard at some photo workshop: Hold the camera in portrait mode, so that you get more coverage on the vertical axis, then move from side to side, overlapping about 25% on each shot.
The original file is huge. It would be 53 inches long if printed at the original resolution. This is a mini-version 🙂
